Cherry Almond Coffee Cake

Ingredients
  • 1 package YELLOW CAKE MIX
  • 1 cup PLAIN YOGURT
  • 3 EGGS
  • 1 21oz can CHERRY PIE FILLING
  • 1 teaspoon ALMOND EXTRACT
  • ¼ cup WATER
  • ½ cup SLIVERED ALMONDS
GLAZE
  • 1½ cups POWDER SUGAR
  • 2 tablespoons MILK
  • 1 teaspoon BUTTER or MARGARINE, melted
Instructions
For GLAZE
  1. mix all ingredients together until smooth, use a few drops of milk if needed.
CAKE BATTER
  1. ) Mix yogurt, egg, almond extract & water
  2. ) Stir in cake mix until just moistened--okay if lumpy
  3. ) Spread dough in 15.5 x 10.5 inch jelly roll pan sprayed
  4. with non-stick cooking spray
  5. ) Drop Cherry filling by spoonfuls on top of the batter
  6. ) Bake for 375 degrees F for25 minutes till tests done
  7. ) Drizzle glaze & sprinkle on the almonds
  8. ) Makes 24 servings
