Cherry Almond Coffee Cake
Ingredients
- 1 package YELLOW CAKE MIX
- 1 cup PLAIN YOGURT
- 3 EGGS
- 1 21oz can CHERRY PIE FILLING
- 1 teaspoon ALMOND EXTRACT
- ¼ cup WATER
- ½ cup SLIVERED ALMONDS
GLAZE
- 1½ cups POWDER SUGAR
- 2 tablespoons MILK
- 1 teaspoon BUTTER or MARGARINE, melted
Instructions
For GLAZE
- mix all ingredients together until smooth, use a few drops of milk if needed.
CAKE BATTER
- ) Mix yogurt, egg, almond extract & water
- ) Stir in cake mix until just moistened--okay if lumpy
- ) Spread dough in 15.5 x 10.5 inch jelly roll pan sprayed
- with non-stick cooking spray
- ) Drop Cherry filling by spoonfuls on top of the batter
- ) Bake for 375 degrees F for25 minutes till tests done
- ) Drizzle glaze & sprinkle on the almonds
- ) Makes 24 servings
