Wowzer!!!! Wild Goose Mama is back —- I think. Laughing here. I’ve been dormant and/or coasting for over a year fueled by the fact I retired the end of December. Part of my challenge in preparing for retirement was to keep my slate CLEAN. Challenge is the key word here. When I see an empty space in my life, I’m overcome with glee. Oh boy. Oh boy. More room to plunge into something new in addition to everything else. Super Woman, idle hands and all that brain wash baloney absorbed through the years was perpetually urging and pressing me forward. With retirement I desired to step aside and allow the Universe to gift me it’s version of the ‘new’. Well what the Universe brought me was more empty space and a train load of questions about the simplest aspects of my life—- like what do I wear everyday? I have four regular closets, one walk in closet and a coat closet, which are all filled with work clothes. I own very few ‘play’ clothes. Clothes will be a mini topic down the road I suspect. Right now it’s just an example of how truly basic my post retirement questions are.
When I’m asked, hey how’s retirement going, my reply is short and only one word, WEIRD. I freely admit I’m existing in a nether world between lost and being at home. So instead of diving right in and reenergizing my blog, I slid from coasting to dormant. Food blogging and the foodie people connected with blogging brings happiness like a six burner stove with a double oven. Finally I gave up flogging myself for laziness and settled into trusting the regenerative power of fallow time. Flogging as a motivator was old monkey and created resentment. Hey, lay off me would you, big bully. So I decided to treat myself with patient kindness. What a concept.
Then it happened. The Force zapped me. Step aside and get down, it’s Blog Time! Do I know where this blog is going? Nope. Not a clue. I had no idea what I was going to write for this post other than the title. I do know cruising through my fellow bloggers marvelous recipes is exciting, so I’ll be presenting fantasy meals for you to salivate over too. Also I suspect I’ll be unusually open in regard to my retirement journey. Fiction is another love, so I envision a flow from that. There’s a multi-part story back in my blog archives begging me to write the final chapter.
So Wheeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!! Down the slide!!!!!!!! Here I go!!!!!!!!!!!
